Biography

Kang Jiyoung was born in Paju, South Korea. Jiyoung joined KARA after Sunghee withdrew from the group. At the time, she was only 14 years old, replacing Nicole as KARA's maknae. After she joined, KARA's original "sexy and mature" image was changed to "cute and playful". She was a member of the project group Mystic White.

Since leaving KARA, Jiyoung has mainly worked as an actress in Japan. She is also a solo artist, using the name JY.
